Raleigh has been the state capital of North Carolina since the late 18th century. The city has many historic neighborhoods including Historic Oakwood, Mordecai, Five Points, Hayes Barton and Boylen Heights. In addition the is Caraleigh Mill and the Cotton Mill, two former industrial buildings now converted to loft like condos.
